Bessie Laws

Bessie Laws, 87, of Eufaula, passed away on September 26, 2019 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bessie was born on January 15, 1932 in Eufaula, Oklahoma to Mentha Hutcherson. She graduated from Booker T. Washington School. Bessie received her LPN license from Connors State College. She was married to John Laws for four years. Bessie was a member and one of the mother's of the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church and was active with the church mission. She loved to cook, especially baking pies and watch sports on television. Her favorite teams to watch were the OU Sooners Football and Oklahoma City Thunder Basketball. Survivors include: her sons: Darryl Laws and wife, Lisa, of Waco, TX; and Scott Laws and wife, Devi, of Las Vegas, NV; daughters: Rhonda Ford and husband, Ronald, of Lancaster, CA; and Carol Richardson, of Los Angeles, CA; brother, Jesse Staley and wife, Dora, of Wichita, KS; sister, Arilla Hayes, of Los Angeles, CA; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, Lawrence C. Staley.
