Arthur Boyd Pylant

June 2, 1933 — July 19, 2015

Arthur was born on June 2, 1933 in Fluvanna, Texas to Raymond and Stella Lois (Morris) Pylant. He attended school at Fluvanna and Clyde Texas High Schools and then two years at Ranger Texas College. He also attended United States Naval Training Center. Arthur served as a Marine from March 17, 1953 to July 1954. While serving, he received the USMCR Class III, 8th MCR & RD National Defense Medal. On April 13, 1963, Arthur married Karen Jean Rogers in Snyder, Texas. They were happily married for over fifty-two years. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include: his wife, Karen Jean Pylant, of the home; sons: Arthur Boyd Pylant, II; Thomas Edgar "Eddie" Pylant; daughters: Julie Sibley; Cheryl Baker; brother, Marshall Pylant; sisters: Rena Cooley; and Darlene Terry; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty-eight great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Stella Pylant; and one sister, Kay Smith.
