Anna Louise Melton

Anna Louise "Lou" Melton, 88, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Louise was born on June 8, 1936, in Healdton, Oklahoma, the daughter of Homer and Minnie Mae (Slate) Newman. The second oldest of four children, Louise grew up in rural Oklahoma and graduated from Healdton Schools before moving to the Oklahoma City area. She married Jack Jones and together they had one son, Tyree Jones. She then married Raymond Espinosa and had a daughter, Rhonda, and son, Nicholas. She worked as a dental assistant at that time.

She married the love of her life, Jerry Lee Melton, in June 1974 and moved to Eufaula, Oklahoma. She became a full-time homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her husband. They hunted together and fished in tournaments, winning several. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, and never met a stranger. She was the kindest soul and doted on her loved ones. She and her sister, Bonnie, lived side by side for several years after their husbands had passed and loved going to garage sales and spending time on the front porch with their neighbors and family. Louise will be missed by so many.

Survivors include her sons Ty Jones of Oklahoma City and Nicholas Espinosa of California, step-children, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Mae Newman; daughter, Rhonda Lynn Paton; brothers Bob and Bill Newman; husband, Jerry Melton; and sister, Bonnie Hoover.
