Alvera Alice Honel, 83, of Tulsa, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Alvera was born on February 12, 1930, in Tomah, Wisconsin, the daughter of William J. and Vera I. (Schmosow) Bailey. She attended school at Perry Valley in Wisconsin. On June 6, 1953, Alvera married Lawrence Kermit Honel in Tomah, Wisconsin. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved embroidering and solving word searches. Her favorite past time was watching the grandchildren and great grandchildren play. Survivors include: her husband, Lawrence, of the home; her sons, Brian Honel and wife Melissa of Canadian, and Brad Honel and wife Melissa of Broken Arrow; her daughter, Brenda Brown and husband David of Tulsa and daughter-in-law, Lorrie Honel of Canadian; her brothers, John Bailey and wife Aleda of New Lisbon, Wisconsin, Don Bailey and wife Doris of Sussex, Wisconsin and Bill Bailey of Tomah Wisconsin; her sisters, Dorothy Struck of Fredonia, Wisconsin, Mary and husband Dave Corlett of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Marge Bradbury of St. Charles, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Danny, Shelley, Larry, Leah, Kyle, Josh and Jake; seventeen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Alvera is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Bruce Honel, one granddaughter, Audra Honel; one grandson, Adam Ray Brown, and , four brothers, Earl, Arnie, Le Roy and Bernard and two sisters, Bernadine and Bernice. Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the Eufaula First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Brannon officiating. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Danny Honel, Larry Honel, Kyle Honel, Josh Honel, Jake Honel, Sam Mann and Jimmy McKenzie. Burial followed at the Bower Cemetery.
