Alice Marie Duke, 76, of Porum, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at her daughter's home in Moore. Alice was born on February 16, 1943, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the daughter of Lewis and Christene (Simpson) Looney. She graduated from Midwest City High School in 1960. After graduating, she was given a opportunity to enter a field which would always be her first choice, - the law - and became an extremely accomplished legal secretary. However, looking to the future for job security and better wages, she began a career with the government in 1971 with the Department of Defense, working at Tinker AIr Force Base for the next 15 years. She joined the United States Army Reserve in 1975. She was honorably discharged in 1976. She married Raymond Gray Duke, Jr. in August of 1983. In 1989, Alice was hired by the Department of Justice, United States Attorney's Office, where she worked in the Criminal Division, first in Oklahoma City, then Muskogee. In the nine months preceding the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building she had transferred to Muskogee and was very proud and honored to be called upon the next day to return to Oklahoma City and participate in the establishment of the command center which would investigate that tragic event. In May of 1995, Alice and Raymond moved to their home on Lake Eufaula. Alice was a member of the St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Midwest City and later a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Eufaula. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Some of Alice's interests included sewing, barrel racing her horse Pogo, scuba diving, camping and hunting. She also enjoyed square dancing and country dancing. Her favorite pastime was spending time on the lake with her family boating and skiing and spending time with her church family. Alice was the epitomy of live, love, laugh with grace and class. Survivors include: her daughter, Kristy Marie Owen; her son, Jesse James Robert Duke; stepchildren, Candace Duke Belsher, Tracy and Sidney Duke and Jana Larson; her brother, Andrew "Drew" Prohoroff; her grandchildren, Christopher, Carl, Curtis, Ava, Gavin, Reid, Jordan, Holden, Brookelynn, Maison, Austin, Dalton and Garrison; and her great grandchildren, Alexis, Kaycee, Kameron and Madison.
