Alfonzo Chiles, Jr. 55, of Eufaula passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at his home. Alfonzo was born on July 24, 1955 in Eufaula, Oklahoma the son of Alfonzo and Queen Ester (Calamease) Chiles, Sr. He graduated from Eufaula High School in 1973 and received his associate’s degree from Connors State College. He received his nursing degree from the Kiamichi Vo-Tech in Poteau in 1976. On October 17, 1979, Alfonzo married Nancy Floyd in Eufaula. He worked as a nurse at the Muskogee Regional Hospital and Eufaula Hospital for over thirty years. He was a member of the Huttonville New Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include: his parents, Alfonzo Sr. and Queen Ester Chiles; his son, Alfonzo Chiles III and wife Brandy of Eufaula; his step-daughter, Lanisa Myers of California; his brothers, Winfred Chiles and wife Mildred of Eufaula, Donald Chiles and wife Sally of Oklahoma City and Marvin Chiles and wife Tracy of Ada; his sisters, Vicki Melton and husband Ronald of Grayson, Stephanie Fox of Eufaula and Chappell Chiles of Eufaula, and one grandchild, Kylar Preston. He is preceded in death by his brother, Bernard “Rudy” Chiles and a nephew, Brandon Chiles.
