Millie Jean Colbert

Mille was born on December 31, 1944 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Jimmie Sr. and Annie (Bear) Walker. She attended the Eufaula Schools but received her GED certificate on December 15, 1976. On April 25, 1963, she married James R. Colbert and had five children. Millie worked as the secretary for Indian Falls Creek and church rallies for many years. Her work experience included: Eufaula Head Start, Eufaula Elderly Nutrition, MCN Language Program, College of the Muscogee Nation and Bacone College. Throughout the years, she was a song leader and had taught the Creek language to schools, various communities and churches. She was a member of the Weogufkee Baptist Church but recently returned to her hom church at Tuskegee Baptist Church. Survivors include: her husband, James, of the home; two sons, Randy Colbert and wife, Kirsten, of Okemah; Russell Colbert and wife, Rainey, of Norman; two daughters, Queenie Colbert; Lillie Murrell and husband Charles, Jr., both of Eufaula; one brother, Jimmie Walker, Jr., of Eufaula; one sister, Louina Lasley and husband, Monroe, of Kansas City, MO; two half-sisters, Carra Tiger, of Kansas City, MO; Charlieanna Panther and husband, Holis, of ; and eleven grandchildren: Katee and Miranda Colbert; Ryan and David Colbert; Elisa and Billy Fields, Jr.; Brandon Colbert and Brandi Murrell; Victoria Colbert; and Hector and Jorge Longoria. She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Richard Walker; one infant sister, Lillie Ann Walker; and one daughter, Leah Fields.
