John William Givens

John William Givens, 73, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021, at his home. John was born on July 26, 1947, in La Mesa, California, the son of Vincent Parkus and Vera Eva (Mufich) Givens. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Morrilton, Arkansas. On January 25, 1966, John enlisted in the United States Navy. While serving, John received several awards including the National Defense Service Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal, the Commendation Aviation Safety Award, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged on April 16, 1968. John worked for AT&T as a lineman and engineer for over thirty years. He married Pamela Sue Hudson on March 17, 2006, in Tryon, Oklahoma. John enjoyed fishing, hunting and horses. He had a great love for Corvettes and was a member of the Eufaula Corvette Club. Survivors include: his wife, Pam, of the home; his daughter, Tammy Dawn Gibson and husband John of Tryon; brothers, Tim Givens of Morrilton, Arkansas, Pat Givens and wife Karen Kay of Denver, Colorado and Mike Givens and wife Claudia of Dallas, Texas; his grandchildren, Evan, Ethan, Elljoy and Elijah. He is preceded in death by his parents.
