Jeannie Flo Renshaw, 79, of McAlester, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2023. Jeannie was born on November 7, 1943 at Five Mile, Oklahoma the daughter of George Washington and Juanita Flo Little. She graduated from Gerty High School. She received her LPN Degree from Connors State College and worked in home health for thirty-seven years. Jeannie left the health care business to begin teaching. She received her Teaching Degree from East Central University in Ada and taught at Parker Middle School in McAlester for two years. She later opened her own business called Jeannie's Boutique selling clothing and serving as a personal color analyst. At the age of 53, Jeannie went back to school and received her RN Degree from Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton. She worked as an RN at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary for a short time and in the home health industry. Jeannie married Larry Renshaw in 1976. They were happily married for 47 years. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Eufaula. She enjoyed reading, painting, playing spades, gardening and giving her husband Larry a hard time.
Survivors include: her husband, Larry, of the home; son, Brian Whitlock of McAlester; step daughters, Joy Sharpe of Edmond, OK and Gay Staires of Edmond, OK; brothers, Joe Little of Mesquite, Texas and Louis Little of Kiowa, OK; grandchildren, Daniel Whitlock, Maranda Whitlock, Hannah Whitlock, Michael Powell, Aaron Sharpe, Christian Howard, Mason Orr, Kamber Orr and Dillon Orr and many great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, stepson, Bradley Keith Renshaw, an infant baby brother and a grandson Jimmy Dale.
