James "Jim" Morton Wilkerson

January 2, 1934 — July 6, 2024

James Morton Wilkerson, 90, of Eufaula, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at his home. Jim was born on January 2, 1934 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of Archie M. and Emily Louise (Diggs) Wilkerson. He graduated from John Marshall High School and then attended Oklahoma City University. Jim enlisted in the United States Navy on July 31, 1951. While serving, he received the United Nations Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged on October 29, 1954. Jim met his Mona in Oklahoma City, where they were married and had two of their three children, Valerie and Jimmie. They later moved to LaPuente, California, where their third child, Lori, was born. The family lived in California and Las Vegas for awhile before moving to Dallas, Texas area. They also lived in Austin, Texas and New Orleans following Jim's work, before moving back to Oklahoma City to help care for the grandchildren. Jim and Mona retired and moved to Lake Eufaula to spend their sunset years. Jim enjoyed fishing, drag racing, road trips and politics. He was a member of the Oak Ridge Baptist Church.

Survivors include: children, Valerie G Armentrout of Broken Arrow, Lori Lynn Eddins of Amarillo, TX, Jimmie Wayne Wilkerson of Eufaula, OK, and daughter in law, Robin V Wilkerson; grandchildren, Craig Eddins and family, Katie Eddins, Stephanie Davis and family, Sherri Snare and family, Scott Armentrout and family, Luke Morgan and family, Darren Armentrout and family, Michelle Armentrout and family, Stephanie Ann Cloud and family, Kristine Lynne Wilkerson, Daniel James Wilkerson and family, Timothy Wayne Wilkerson and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and his beloved dog Quincy. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Sylvia Mona Wilkerson, his 10 siblings and a granddaughter, Kristine Lynne Wilkerson.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
