Don played on the football team at McLoud High School from 1982 -1985. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1989 with a degree in Agricultural Education. While attending OSU, Don played on the football team. He was proud that he once jammed Mike Gundy's finger during a deep snap. He shared the gospel openly to many throughout his life. He wanted everyone to know that the only hope in life in death is Christ Jesus. He shared this verse and lived it through his words and actions: "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus." Romans 3:23-24. Jesus was Don's number one priority. Next, came his family and friends. His six children, nine grandchildren, wife, and numerous nieces and nephews were his world. His favorite hobby was turkey hunting. Don also loved to hunt for deer, fish, spend time on Lake Eufaula, travel and torment his twin sister Donna.
